Our Danish Pig Academy network gathered for a day filled with positive energy, inspiring talks, and engaging conversations about the future.
We discussed new ideas for 2026 - and got valuable market updates from Poland and Ukraine.
A big highlight of the day was the presentation from SEGES Innovation, which will soon join our network. Their expertise in agricultural research and advisory services will be a strong addition to Danish Pig Academy – and we are really looking forward to the collaboration! 🤝🐷

ACO was delighted to welcome 18 Environmental Engineering students to the ACO Academy on 31st October as part of their 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 module.
The visit included an engaging presentation on SuDS – what we can learn from beavers, followed by a tour showcasing 𝗔𝗖𝗢’𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀.
It was an interactive day with great discussions on topics such as SuDS standards, wildlife connectivity structures, water quality systems, and integrating nature-based solutions.
The day was run by David Smoker, Terry Wilkinson, and Ali Murtaza and thanks to all the students for their enthusiasm and insightful questions.
We look forward to continuing this annual collaboration and inspiring the next generation of Environmental Engineers!

Sicherheit im Tunnel beginnt mit der richtigen Entwässerung 🔧
In modernen Strassentunneln ist die Entwässerung weit mehr als nur ein technisches Detail, Sie ist ein zentraler Bestandteil des Sicherheitskonzepts.

Como transformar um desafio de gestão de águas pluviais em ganho de área útil?
No pátio de uma transportadora em Porto Feliz (SP), o desafio era grande: reter e infiltrar volumes significativos de águas pluviais, garantindo eficiência hidráulica sem comprometer o espaço operacional.
A solução veio com o ACO Stormbrixx® SD900, um sistema modular de reservatório subterrâneo que permite a retenção e infiltração da água da chuva — tudo isso com instalação concluída em apenas 3 horas.
Além de contribuir para o controle da drenagem urbana, o sistema proporcionou ganho de área útil, redução de custos e instalação precisa e rápida, reforçando a eficiência do processo construtivo.

U petak 24. listopada boravili smo u Splitu kako bi podržali međunarodni ciklus javnih predavanja o arhitekturi 𝗦𝗽𝗹𝗶𝘁 𝗧𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀 u organizaciji studija Arhitekture i urbanizma splitskog Fakulteta građevinarstva, arhitekture i geodezije (FGAG).
U prepunom foyeru Hrvatskog narodnog kazališta u Splitu simpozij je okupio europske arhitekte i urbaniste u razmjeni ideja o suvremenim izazovima projektiranja javnog prostora. Uz fantastične moderatore, Hrvoja Njirića i Dinka Peračića, kroz predavanja, diskusije i prezentacije, fokus je bio na kontekstualnosti, inkluzivnosti i snazi arhitekture da oblikuje društvo. Inspirativna predavanja održali su:
🎤 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗿𝗼𝘀, istaknuti španjolski arhitekt i profesor na Columbiji (New York)

🎤 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝘁𝗶𝗸𝗲 (Split) — mladi splitski ured koji je nedavno privukao pažnju Domusa i Dezeena s projektom pješačkog mosta u Trogiru
🎤 𝗝𝗮𝘀𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗿ć𝗼, 𝗡𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗺 𝗠𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶ć i 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝗻 𝗭𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘁𝗶ć — predstavnici nove generacije arhitekata iz Sarajeva.
Kao jedan od pokrovitelja eventa, zaigrali smo se izložbenim prostorom i postavili audiovizualnu instalaciju od 𝗔𝗖𝗢 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗯𝗿𝗶𝘅𝘅 blokova. Kroz ovaj experience, u posjetiteljima smo htjeli probuditi osjećaj hitnosti i nužnosti očuvanja resursa vode i vraćanja vode prirodi pomoću blokova za infiltraciju i retenciju oborinskih voda. Sve češće nepredviđene, razorne poplave i urbani toplinski otoci narušavaju kvalitetu života u urbanim područjima koja često nisu spremna nositi se s posljedicama klimatskih promjena.
Gradovi budućnosti su otporni, održivi i spremni na suživot s prirodom – uz ACO rješenja koja prate prirodan ciklus kruženja vode ovakvi gradovi postaju stvarnost.

In pig production, feed costs can account for up to 70% of producers’ expenses. This is why everyone in the pig industry continually discusses feed ingredients, recipes, animal diets, feed intakes, feed conversion rates, and so on.
The modern pig breeding program contributes to improving animal welfare indicators and to reducing the environmental impact of pig production by selecting more (feed) efficient and healthier animals.
Additionally, it contributes to economic sustainability as it is a driving factor in every production phase.

The winners of the Architecture Foundation of British Columbia
Architectural Awards of Excellence were announced on Oct. 27 in Vancouver, celebrating #architecture and design excellence in projects across B.C.
The Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Awards in Architecture went to 2 projects this year, including the Northern Secwepemc Cultural Centre by McFarland Marceau Architects and The Butterfly + First Baptist Church Complex by Revery Architecture Inc. – via REMI Network
