In 2019, a record 6,000+ homes in Ottawa and Gatineau were flooded or at risk. Roads and streets in the affected areas were closed for extended periods, ferry services were cancelled and several bridges were closed.
The sheer scale of this calamity compelled the City of Ottawa / Ville d’Ottawa’s council to declare a #climate emergency, and allocate $250,000 toward “accelerating climate action.” As a result of those efforts, the city now has an overall multi year, multi phase climate resiliency strategy called Climate Ready Ottawa, triggering the production of its own urban #flood information report to inform mitigation efforts. – via ReNew Canada

💧 Od ponad miesiąca trwa nowy rok hydrologiczny i już widać, że sytuacja hydrologiczna w wielu regionach Polski ulega poprawie.
🌧️❄️ Ostatnie opady deszczu, a wcześniej i śniegu, o których informowały m.in. media oraz Państwowe Gospodarstwo Wodne Wody Polskie, zaczynają realnie zasilać zasoby wodne i stabilizować lokalne warunki.
🏙️ To dobry moment, żeby przypomnieć, że miasta mogą aktywnie wzmacniać tę naturalną odbudowę – pod warunkiem, że posiadają infrastrukturę, która potrafi przyjąć, zatrzymać i bezpiecznie zagospodarować wodę.
✅ A na koniec już same konkrety:
👉 Które rozwiązania #ACO pomagają miastom radzić sobie z wodą przez cały rok, także zimą?

The program covered a wide range of intelligent solutions, including the Virtual Farm Assistant, Pig365 real-time data insights, and correlation analyses, as well as innovations in climate monitoring and smart water meters. 💡
