Freyberg Place Award
Congratulations to the team who worked on the Ellen Melville Centre and Freyberg Place refurbishment, winning a 2018 NZIA award for the project. ACO supplied K200 channels to deal with overland flow, discrete Brickslot drains for plaza, façade and water feature drainage, and trafficable infill access covers. Saturday May 12th saw the annual Water Industry Game Fishing Championships (WIGFiC) where over 100 competitors had a fantastic time fishing at Stocks Fly Fishery, Slaidburn, Clitheroe.
Our very own Barry Ogden was on hand to present the trophy for 'Overall Runner-up' which was awarded to Paul Breeze, representing the Environment Agency North East region.
Overall it was a fantastic day and we hope all those who attended enjoyed this year's competition.

Katie Satterthwaite, Senior Hygiene Technologist at Marks and Spencer Plc, will be speaking at the Hygiene by Design workshop being hosted by ACO Building Drainage and the Food & Drink Federation on 21 June. Katie, who joined M&S in 2012, is responsible for developing hygienic manufacturing standards for the M&S supply base and oversees the food safety audits for stores, depots and suppliers. She sits on the EHEDG Cleaning working group and the new GFSI’s Hygienic Design technical working group. During her presentation, Katie will give the retailers view on hygienic design and explain what hygiene means to M&S. Victoria on the River in Hamilton was featured at the recent 2018 Waikato/Bay of Plenty Architecture Awards. The project won a Planning and Urban Design Award for Edwards White Architects and engineering consultants Aecom. ACO KlassikDrain K100 channels with Ductile Iron Heelsafe® Anti-Slip grates were chosen for their proven drainage ability in pedestrian areas, and that weathered grates match other iron design elements elsewhere in the project. #IfoundACO #ACONZ

Moreton Bay Regional Council located in South East Queensland had to take into account the site’s poor soil quality when upgrading Plantation Road. In an effort to reduce unnecessary excavation, the designers decided on a shallow heavy-duty linear drainage system. ACO Stainless goten en putten bieden de beste oplossingen en prestaties op het gebied van hygiëne om schadelijke bacteriële verontreiniging te voorkomen. Hierbij volgen wij de hygiënische ontwerpprincipes zoals ook gebruikt voor het voedselbereidingsgebied volgens NEN-EN 1672 en NEN-EN ISO 14159. Zo hebben de hoeken in de goten en putten een radius van minimaal 3 mm wat een eenvoudige reiniging bevordert.
