Back in March, ACO launched a virtual tour of the world's continents - beyond.aco! In the first event of the series, internationally renowned #architects and other experts presented their inspiring projects of different scales, and how they have faced new challenges working within #urban and #rural environments.

Our team have been busy taking part in the #100MilesinMay challenge this month, raising vital funds for the Samaritans of North Herts and Stevenage. They have been walking 🚶, running 🏃♀️ and cycling 🚴♀️ in support of the charity, so The Samaritans can continue to provide a confidential listening service to those in need.
We are supporting the North Herts and Stevenage branch as this is the local branch to our head office in Shefford, and is self-funded so any donations are vital. A £10 donation will cover the cost of 2 phone calls, and our target of £500 will keep the phone lines open for an hour.

Marina Tabassum to kolejne wielkie nazwisko na beyond.aco | architektura ponad kontynentami. Słynna architektka dołączyła do grona prelegentów wydarzenia będącego inspiracją dla projektantów i architektów z całego świata, które odbędzie się 10 czerwca 2021 roku.
Marina Tabassum jest absolwentką wydziału architektury w Bangladeszu, który ukończyła z wyróżnieniem. W pracy zawodowej realizuje zrównoważoną koncepcję architektury, a od 2005 roku z powodzeniem prowadzi własną pracownię projektową.
Jest wykładowcą na uniwersytetach Harvard, Dhaka oraz Texas. Od 2015 kieruje Programem Akademickim Bengalskiego Instytutu Architektury, Krajobrazów i Osiedli, aktywnie pracuje ze studentami, a dodatkowo uczestniczy w wielu wystawach.
Uhonorowana tytułem doktora honoris causa za wkład w praktykę architektoniczną, badania naukowe i naukę. M. Tabassum należy do wybitnego grona pierwszej dziesiątki myślicieli świata 2020 roku przyznawanego przez Prospect Magazine UK. Jest laureatką wielu nagród w tym nagrody Jameel oraz Aga Khan award for Architecture za zaprojektowanie meczetu Baitur Rauf Jame w Dhace.

Drugie wydarzenie z nowego cyklu spotkań beyond.aco zbliża się wielkimi krokami.
Już 10 czerwca „beyond.aco architektura ponad kontynentami” - inspirujące spotkanie dla architektów i projektantów z całego świata.
Jednym z prelegentów będzie światowej sławy architekt Simon Velez.
Urodzony w Kolumbii, pochodzący z rodziny architektów, wybitny wizjoner. Odkrywca techniki konstrukcyjnej, która zrewolucjonizowała sposób budowania z wykorzystaniem bambusa. Velez pokazał, że bambus można traktować jak stal roślinną. Jest zwolennikiem teorii wegańskiej architektury oraz zrównoważonego podejścia do projektowania i budowania opartego na mieszanych materiałach.
Simon Velez jest entuzjastą wykorzystywania naturalnych zasobów i autorem ponad 200 projektów domów na całym świecie.
Na co dzień prowadzi studio w Bogocie, uczestniczy w wielu wystawach, bierze udział w sympozjach, jest jurorem wielu prestiżowych konkursów.
