O descarte de resíduos industriais é a principal fonte de contaminação de rios por metais pesados. Indústrias metalúrgicas, de tintas, plástico PVC, entre outras utilizam estes metais, e muitas vezes lançam no esgoto comum, ou direto em rios de forma irregular. Mas por que isso é um problema?
Boa parte dos elementos despejados como o mercúrio, o cádmio e o chumbo são tóxicos, e o contato com estas substâncias, seja por ingestão de água ou comendo peixes contaminados podem causar sérios problemas, como o aumento da incidência de câncer e disfunções no sistema nervoso.
Nos organismos aquáticos a ação tóxica pode causar morte de várias espécies e bioacumulação destes metais, que aumenta o efeito nocivo destas substâncias através das cadeias alimentares. Nos oceanos eles podem até contaminar permanentemente a fauna e a flora aquáticas.
É possível realizar uma descontaminação através de tratamentos térmicos, químicos e físicos, porém a forma mais eficiente de evitar problemas é não despejando irregularmente esses elementos.

U cilju zaštite životne sredine i poštovanja ekoloških standarda, kao neizostavni deo u odgovornom upravljanju površinskim vodama, moramo istaknuti i njeno prečišćavanje od štetnih materija. Ovaj faktor postaje naročito bitan u vodozahvatnim područjima koja su u blizini prometnih saobraćajnica i autoputeva.
Drago nam je da je kompanija ACO za projekat izgradnje obilaznice na potezu od Dobanovačke petlje do tunela Lipak imala priliku da isporuči sistem koji podrazumeva Separatore naftnih derivata, Q-plate regulatore protoka i Separatore teških metala, čime je doprinela tercijalnom prečišćavanju voda na ovom potezu i time pomogla u očuvanju kvaliteta podzemnih voda u njegovoj neposrednoj blizini.

Greg Facey is our Market Segment Manager for ACO for the Civil Engineering Segment.
He began his career with the organisation back in 2004 as Queensland Specification Representative providing education and project solutions to many state authorities, engineering and architectural firms.
Greg progressed into the current Market Segment role, providing education and CPD support, technical advice and design brief development nationally to industry associations, transport authorities and designers, in the stormwater management space.

The 22nd edition of NordArt presents paintings and sculptures, photographs, video works and installations by more than 200 artists from all over the world. Each work stands for itself and at the same time in dialogue with the others. Around 3,000 artists from over 100 countries applied for NordArt 2020.
This year's country focus is Ukraine, with its own pavilion. NordArt 2020 also presents special projects from South Korea and Central Asia. In cooperation with the Sculpture Line from Prague, NordArt is exhibiting new sculptures from the Czech Republic. All awardees of NordArt 2019 will be also represented this year. The opening will take place on June 6th at 5 p.m.
